Mine diving August 11-12, 2018
Team: Max, Steffen, Zeljka, Heinke
Guests: Mats, Fabi, Sven
Having fun while diving is very important for us and so we decided to spend a weekend together with some friends and supporters of our team to have a look at the German mines.
On Saturday the 11th of August we went to the Bergwerk Nuttlar, where some of us have been before. The really great thing about this colliery is that it is very shallow and so the OC divers can get long diving times with little effort. In two dives we watched as much as we could from the upper sole and had a really great time not carrying long distances, super visibility and a fun crew. Really a great change to the European caves.
After the second dive Steffen unfortunately damaged the HUD of his JJ-CCR while dismantling the equipment, which we were able to fix in the evening in a comfortable group in joint work. Hearty miner's food strengthened us for the next day.
On Sunday we had something very special in mind. We wanted to go to the newly opened Bergwerk Felicitas. Wolfang Röhr, the operator of the mine, had only opened 2 months ago. The mine is much more demanding, just because of its depth of at least 30m and the poor visibility in the 120m long Bremsberg. On site there were some other rebreather divers with whom we were able to exchange information with interest. Also in the Felicitas we made again 2 dives and reached in both dives without much effort the EOLs. We were so enthusiastic about this mine that we offered Wolfgang our support in the further exploration of the mine. So we planned to carry out a project here.
Full of great new impressions and thoughts about the future project we set off home.
Shortly afterwards we also went to a project there. Click here to find out more:
In this sense,
